The only way Ben's birthday could have been more perfect was if we had Brian here and of coarse our families.... But given the circumstances it was still a pretty fantastic day! Ben woke up early (7:15) but then took his am nap about 9:15ish so I got us ready and by the time he woke up it was time to go to the parade. He did GREAT! He literally sat and watched the entire parade- Yeah I was shocked too. The parade was 2hrs long- the first part he sat on my lap so when I got way to hot (was 93 here today) I sat him in his stroller and he was happy watching the parade and Addy and Winston (his friends) play with/around him :) After that we came home and he was out before we even got on base, so I laid him down for his 2nd nap and again by the time he woke up we were ready to head to our friends house. We are so fortunate to have amazing friends! Jason, Emily, and Ian were so awesome to have Ben and I over for the afternoon- Thanks :) Ben and Ian had a blast playing all over the back patio and it was nice to sit and chat with Jason and Em. The food was good and we had a fun time. Once we left Ben fell asleep again on the way home and then I just put him down for the night. This day was too easy so keep your fingers crossed that he sleeps well tonight :) I got a chance to talk to Brian this morning and he's doing well and should be in place by tomorrow afternoon. We miss him more than I could ever explain and can't wait for him to come home! I hope you all had a great day today and I can't wait to see all of you within the next month. We love you and miss you all! Thanks again today for the great company Tori & Kelle (at the parade), then Jason, Em, and Ian this afternoon- you're all so good to us :) We love you Brian and can't wait to hear from you again. ah, look at ben! he's a cutie! looks like you two (and friends) had a great 4th of july...parade? that's awesome...i napped all day to go to work (twice) that night...and it was too hot for kristen to go outside. we watched some fireworks from our driveway before we got had by a thunderstorm. (debbie downer! sorry) but we had a good day, for real. joshua will be here before we know it-it's WONDERFUL to see all of our nephews so we can feel out what to expect (kind of, you know?) but he's on his way!!
